Wendy’s Copycat Chili

  • Author: based on a recipe from Epicurious

I am always making chili and I love to make ones with and without beans.  Big John asked for a chili with lots of beans.  This came out so good.  Enjoy!

  • 1 pound ground beef, browned
  • 1 pound Circle B Ranch ground pork, browned
  • 1 large sweet yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 large red bell pepper, chopped
  • 3 celery strips/sections, chopped
  • 1 large tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 can Pinto Beans, NOT drained (15 ounce cans)
  • 1 cans dark red kidney beans, NOT drained (15 ounce cans)
  • 124 oz Marina’s Tomato Sauce
  • 1 tbls cumin powder
  • 1/4 cup chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Homemade Chicken Stock
  • 1 cup Beer

Brown the meats and drain off any fat.  Add the onion, red bell pepper and garlic to the pan and cook until translucent.  Add the remaining ingredients and stir will and cook.  Cook for 1 hour or until done.  Serve with shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream. Enjoy!
