Eat Clean – Eat Healthy
A lot of New Year’s resolutions are to eat healthy and eat clean – and for us, it’s no different! It’s so easy to give up on this type of resolution because of the massive amounts of unhealthy options on the market (not to mention, they tend to be cheaper than their healthier alternatives). However, there are SO many reasons to make the switch to a healthier, cleaner way of living:
Maintain better blood sugar levels When you start to eat less junk food and soda and more organic fruits, vegetables, and pastured meats, you’ll automatically lower your sugar intake. For those that are diabetic, this switch is key to keeping a healthy balance.
Add vitamins back into your diet
We always recommend reading the ingredients list when shopping for “diet” foods because they often incorporate even worse chemicals than what are in the junk food you’re trying to get away from! When you get back into green veggies and fruits, your vitamin intake skyrockets.
Learn a new hobby: Cooking!
As Marina can testify, cooking is a great way to bring together a family in a way that creates lasting memories for generations. Create your own unique recipes (and fail at a couple, too!) and pass them down.
Many of us struggle with our weight on a daily basis, but can’t seem to kick the habit of eating terrible foods. This year is different though – we’re eating clean! Swapping out bad carbohydrates for nutrient-dense food is a simple way to cut back on calories you won’t even miss.
Try new foods
While you’re strolling through the farmer’s market and the produce department of your favorite grocery store, you’re bound to find something you haven’t tried before! Experiment and see what your new favorite foods are.
