Where does the Bloody Mary come from?

Back in the 1890s, people were starting to experiment with different types of ways to lose weight and be “healthier.” While some of these trends weren’t particularly safe or useful, they did kick off the use of tomato juice with other elements for various health assumptions. Even during the Prohibition, the wealthy were still secretly mixing and drinking Bloody Mary’s (while also creating a culture around brunch). However, it didn’t really get popular until around the mid to late 1900s.
